Mother Shipton’s Halloween – Enchanted Forest

27th October – 4th November 2018, 10am -4.30pm

Journey through Mother Shipton’s Enchanted Forest to break the Witch’s curse. Come in your best Halloween costumes for the daily costume competition at 2pm.

Actors will be stationed as characters in the park to interact with children and help families complete a themed adventure trail. Fun for all the family every day Saturday 27th October to Sunday 4th November. The Park opens 10am to 4.30pm (last admission 3.30pm). Bolton Abbey Pumpkin Trail 2018

20th to 4th October 2018: 9am-5pm

A spooktacular week of fun. Follow the trail of over sized pumpkins through Strid Wood and discover the mystery doors hidden among the trees. Behind each door is a clue to help unravel the witches magical spell.

Books and Boogie Baby and Toddler Book Club Halloween Special 2017

Olé Baby is excited to announce the launch of “Books and Boogie” a Book Club exclusively for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. We are passionate about instilling a love of language and reading in our children, and our weekly book club will help us do just that.

Our sessions will all be themed, with the first being Halloween, and will give children the opportunity to explore a range of book and dance to music associated with the theme. Sessions may include other activities such as craft, drama, games. At the end of each session there will be a Spanish optional activity for those who wish to expose their children to a foreign language.

There will be a pop-up bookshop at each session with associated books.

The pumpkin patch is returning for 2018 and with a new theme! Pick your own pumpkin and carvers will be on hand to help you make a spooky creation!  In the Wizardry School young witches and wizards will be given their own spell book and have to complete the challenges in the Witches Wood!  Fancy dress is encouraged and there will be prizes for the best dressed!

Pick n’ Primp your Pumpkin Festival

Come down to Kirkstall Abbey to pick your perfect pumpkin to decorate your very own spooktacular masterpiece! Meet childhood favourite characters, including Caspar the friendly ghost.

Once you’ve picked your precious pumpkin, take it off to the pimping station ready to paint, prettify and make perfect with all the marvellous crafty bits n bobs at your disposal. Whilst the little ones are busy prettifying their pumpkins, grown-ups can take five as we’ll have hot & cold drinks and yummy pumpkin soup and Rustic Pizza will be on hand with their perfectly delicious pizzas!

Pirates, Pants and Wellyphants: The Illustrated World of Nick Sharatt

Visit Leeds Central Library to immerse yourselves in Nick’s world! In this Arts council funded exhibition you can find out about his childhood and what inspired him to become an illustrator, and meet a host of characters that he has created throughout his career.

There are plenty of fun things to see and do in the exhibition, including a reading room where visitors can sit and enjoy a wealth of books that Nick has written and illustrated.

Spooky Halloween Garden Trail 2017

24th-27th Oct, 10.30am – 3.00pm

Visit Hollybush garden and enjoy some autumn sunshine(we hope). Let your children take you round the super spooky garden trail, count the pumpkins and witches and answer some tricky questions while you learn all about snakes, spiders and bats. Options for toddlers and older children available.  Pick up your quiz leaflets in the cafe, pay £1.50 per child on the door. When they have completed the trail they will get a small prize.

The Cafe will be open throughout with hot and cold drinks, home-made cake, and light lunches (eg baked potatoes, home made soup). Funds raised go to support the Hollybush garden.

Spooky Scarecrow Trail at Kirkstall Abbey

30th October – 4th November 2018, 10am-3pm

Kirkstall Abbey will hosting a ‘not so scary’ scarecrow trail around the abbey ruins during October Half Term.  The ruins are also a great place to play a game of spooky hide and seek with the little ones.

Pick up a trail sheet in the visitor centre then explore the abbey looking for spooky scarecrows!

Thackray Museum – Pus and Pimples SFX workshop

Trailblazer Halloween Trick or Treat Trail 2017

Halloween for the kids! Trailblazer bring the community and families together for an awesome Halloween celebration. Instead of kids going trick or treating knocking on strangers doors, come together and celebrate Halloween and give the kids a night to remember.

• 100’s of pumpkins carved out and lit up for the trail

• Spider tunnel to go through to win sweets
• Bat cave made from 100’s of carved bats hanging from trees
