The Northern Kite Group are once again put on a fabulous Kite Festival for Leeds. From 10am-4pm, on both the 12th & 13th May, kites should be filling the skies.
There’ll be colourful kites of all shapes and sizes flying, an opportunity to make your own kite, and kite flying displays. Bring along your own kite to fly outside the arena, and why not bring a picnic too.
Hopefully they’ll again have the biggest teddy bear kite in the world, plus fish swimming in the sky, dragons with long tails and other kites of all shapes and sizes.
The festival will be on in The Clearings, signposted from the main car parks – the easiest place to park will probably at the John Charles Centre for Sport and its only a short walk (10 minutes) into the park from there. There are no refreshments being sold at the festival itself, so please either bring your own, or use the cafe’s nearby.
PLEASE NOTE THE KITES ARE WEATHER DEPENDANT AND CAN ONLY FLY AT POINTS IN THE WEEKEND WHEN THERE’S ENOUGH WIND
