Bert’s Barrow is a small family run farm in Hillam, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs and local produce. They have a lovely courtyard area with tables where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or ice cream. There are pedal tractors to keep the kids entertained as well as goats, chickens and horses to see.
Pick your own strawberries from June to August. Open every day from 10am.

Farming in Horsforth for over 60 years the Kemp family started the popular outdoor pick your own in 1984. The pick your own concentrates on strawberries and raspberries, with a number of varieties of each to enable as long a picking season as possible for our customers. Generally picking starts in early June and finishes in early August, but is weather dependant.
Opening Times: Open everyday 10am to 7pm, weather permitting (check facebook) with last entry at 6.30pm. Will close the PYO if it persistently rains, so please check Facebook Page for updates before travelling.
New for 2018 – hot and cold drinks will be available along with cream and ice cream. Also more farm produce – beef burgers and sausages from our own beef along with our rapeseed oil dalesgold.
Weekends only – tractor and trailor rides will be available until 5pm.
